Canada's Wonderland in January
Okay, maybe not "Canada" but our little corner of the province.
Well, here we are almost at the end of January. There are no mountains of snow or super cold temperatures- yet. We've got another snow, er, ice day. Freezing rain all day turning to ice pellets this evening.
My poor trees and shrubs. The yard looks like a battleground.
Ice crystals nestled in the base of a sap bucket.
A good day to do a little baking. These are raspberry-filled heart-shaped scones. They looked a lot more heart-shaped before baking. It's a recipe from an old recipe from Country Living magazine.
Apparently the roads were find but everybody's driveway looks more like a rink. The weather didn't keep away two brave souls who dropped by to explore the chilly Milkhouse and take away a trunk load of chinchilla tubs and sap buckets.
I got to try out my new ice grips for my boots. They work wonderfully. I was tramping about for a couple hours and loved every minute of it. No worry about slipping.

careful on that ice! your scones looks wonderful for a cold day!
The scones look oh, so yummy. Your ice grips are very chic, mine are just black. Aren't we intrepid, us Canadians? And I still enjoy the ice pictures.
