
I have had this large old chocolate box for years. Every year I take it out and look at it, imagining what I should do with it. The time has come! I have begun my project.

I pulled out a bunch of old lace and some Dresden trim.

I added the trim to the edge of the lid and dry-brushed the ruffle with some
gesso.

Then I laid out the lace to see how it looked.

Then I started stitching. I could have glued it down but I didn't want to cause any permanent damage tot he lace.

Three quarters of the way to the top. Tonight I give my fingers a rest. It's a little tricky stitching through the padded top as it is backed with cardboard. I hope to be done by the end of the week.

It is going to be beautiful. No need for chocolates inside - the box is treat enough.
The lace looks lovely. I love the ruffle on the box and the white dusting makes it look sugar-coated.
