A good friend of mine has a china cabinet filled with special dishes and nestled in amongst the dinnerware are little birds' nests and other lovely objects from nature. Where we live now there are a great many birds about to entertain us. After a good windy day or severe storm it is not unusual to find the odd nest lying about. So, I have done the same and tucked them in with other precious objects. I spray them first and let them air out for a few days before bringing them in. No need for any unpleasant surprises.
