The Barnum and Bailey sign is from a train set and when hooked up correctly, there is a light and it whistles. The picture on the front is paper. The paper drum on the left holds a cake decoration set in the circus theme. The monkey is son number one's tin bank by Chein.
I tucked in a few circus themed Valentine's this year.
Another bank by Chein sits on a chair. The clown party umbrellas in original packaging on the left were a gift from a friend.

Can't Get Out To a Gallery?
Gather all the art waiting for a home, fill a wall. Sit back and enjoy.
Some thrifted, some family pieces.

A New Month, More Rain
Remember the simple pleasure of visiting your favourite local shop and visiting with the folks who ran it?

In Another Time, Things Weren't So Different From Today
Remembering my maternal grandmother and how simple her wedding was. She was married at home, during a scarlet fever outbreak back in the 1920s.

Victorian Shelf Makeover
We picked this up last fall. It has lovely details.
Yes, it is crooked. It has since been leveled. Old house, nothing is really level here. Marty followed clues and rebuilt and repaired and then painted it all white. The wee drawers are a separate unit that can be slipped out. The door is replaced. It's been fun putting it to use.

Let The Sun Shine
I found this a while back. I have a small collection of antique Niagara Falls items. I am sure I have posted about that before. This is a moving picture lamp. Mine is missing the spinner that sits over the bulb in behind the glass. Basically it is just a lamp now.
It sits on my end table and when the blind is up and the sun is shining, it glows very nicely.

Very Chilly Morning, With Sunshine
It snowed yesterday. And it was still here this morning.
It was the bright warm sun coming through the windows that told me it would be a great idea to hang some hand washables out on the line.
They froze right away. In the back field I could hear the wild turkeys whooping it up and some other unfamiliar animal sounds. You've got to love springtime!

The Chicks Are In This Easter Weekend
I pulled out my stash of antique Easter postcards.
I see a trend here. I seem to prefer the ones with chickens. If I recall correctly, the card with the rabbit was one of my first eBay purchases, long ago.
Another chicken
This was a more recent find. I love that it is not glass.
These little cuties arrived on Thursday. They grow fast
and do not stay this darling for long.

Special Delivery
Late last night I got an email from a friend and she mentioned she left something in my mailbox. Really? They live some distance from here. It was quite late so I sent Aaron out, flashlight in hand and sure enough, a slender bag filled with all this! Two lovely antique Easter greeting cards in matching envelopes with the prettiest paper inside, seeds and embellishments. There was also a lovely note. What a nice surprise and esp. so during this time of isolation. I look forward to getting the seeds planted. Thank you so very much J&A.

No Excuses To Let the Laundry Go
Being at home all the time, it is a simple task to toss the laundry into the machine and let it do its thing.
Of course, with this lovely spring weather we have options when it comes to drying it. Toss it into the dryer or hang it outside.
I think every space should be a space that is bright and happy, warm and cozy, or inspiring.
The yellow dress is from a Raggedy Ann doll my mom made me when we were moving from Thunder Bay to Sault Ste Marie oh so long ago. The doll eventually fell apart.
The rest of the vintage Avon pieces. And a few Kiddles too. I remember having quite a variety of them when younger. Alas, today they are way beyond me in price range. If you look them up, you will see pins, rings, necklaces, spaceships, ice cream cones, lolly pops and so many more forms of them. Well, back to the laundry!

Happy Memories
My mom made this dress back in the 1960s and she had a pair of orange patent leather gogo boots and a very ugly orange purse to go with it. When she gave it to me, I wasn't sure what to do with it.
Then it occurred to me that I could have it out to enjoy and fill it up with the brightly coloured glace Avon pins she had given me over the years, back in the 70s. She sold Avon for a while and each catalogue was full of magical items and these pins as well as some of their figural lip balms for children were captivating! Remember the Oreo cookie with two shades of lip gloss in it? Or the ice cream cone with scented lip balm in it? I still had a number of those pins and I was fortunate to find the missing ones for good prices when I started to look to replace the missing ones. The hanger was a long ago yard sale find.
I also added pin back buttons from school and other stuff going on in my little world growing up. It makes me smile whenever I see it.
