I Won!
Alpha Stamps has a weekly giveaway and for a very long time I have tossed my name in the hat. Well, last week it was my turn to win! The theme this time was paper dolls and yesterday my package arrived in the mail. There were paper doll clip art sheets, a whole pad of Graphic 45 paper and a whole lot of other little bits to spur you on to great creativity.
There was a Shackman set of Bette Davis paper doll pieces.
And a lovely assortment of embellishments and some great chip board shapes. What a very nice surprise. Go ahead, and sign up for Leslie's newsletters. You could be the next lucky winner.

Snow Days, Valentine's Day, And A Giveaway For You
Friday brought a big snowstorm, from the east. They even closed the 401 highway due to so many accidents. It was a good day to stay inside.
There were some lovely shadows.
Lots of drifts.
It was a good day to spend in the kitchen, baking up little love.
I packaged up the little cookies in boxes for the guys to nibble on during the week.
I dug out my vintage Valentines and set out the lovely Victorian 3D one.
And now for the giveaway. Jo Packham is offering two copies of her "Where Women Create, Book of Organization" to two of my lovely blog readers, so do leave a comment here and on Valentine's Day I will draw two lucky winners.

Giveaways & Goodies
Recently, in between my comings and goings, fellow Canadian blogger, Carmi had a giveaway for her Canadian followers and I was the happy winner of this fab Cricut Shapes cartridge. And, I happen to know someone who has a Cricut machine and look forward to trying this out. Thank you Carmi!!
Miss Sharon came for a visit yesterday and brought along my Smash journal order from Rosa. I just love the feel and quality of these journals. Go here for their fun you tube video.
Had to get a few of the goodies that go with them too, of course!

And The Winners Are
First, I must say thank you to everyone who took the time to drop by and visit my blog over the last couple weeks. I have enjoyed visiting blogs from all over the world too. Kind of nice to know that although we may create, alone, in our homes, we are not all that different at all. Nor are we really alone. Our blogs reach out and touch folks from all over. Now for the winners of my three draws. First, the shadowbox goes to Mary Ann of My Tate Gallery. Second, the collage/ephemera pack goes to Sherry of Sherry's Simple Blog. Last but not least, the antique and vintage labels go to Mandy of Eight is Enough. I hope you all enjoy your gifts. They will ship out on Monday morning.

Playtime
Yesterday was a day filled with driving about, running errands, and hitting the usual places for a little thrifting.
At Goodwill, we found this big box of K'nex building pieces. Jacob used to love playing with K'nex and he still has it, tucked away for someone else to enjoy. It was a very good deal so we picked it up.

If you are gone most of the day, she is very attached when you get home. Her greatest happiness is the "puppy pile" where the furry blanket, and her favourite people all cozy up together. She loves to watch television.
Sorting all those little pieces can be tedious, even for the most interested dog, so if she can get just a little closer, she can sleep in peace knowing that if Joshua moves, she wont miss it.

The deadline for signing up is February 12 so you can still join the fun if you like. You just never know what friends you might make along the way.
Have a great weekend.

A Little Punch Of Colour
It's another gray day here. After the big dump of snow we got last week, there was more on the weekend and still a little more expected today. Time for a little colour!
As I have been scouring the house for things we do not need to take to the new house, I came across these little colourful sweeties (yes, they are coming with us). I've shared the pig planter and blue vase before but the pink bowl is an oddity I paid a whole four dollars for because I appreciated the crazing inside and the flora relief on the outside. Not your typical kitchen mixing bowl. Too heavy for a soup bowl.
I also pulled out this little Yo-Yo quilt. I actually made this more than 28 years ago, while waiting for my wedding date to arrive. Being of the organised sort, everything was done and ready to go a good number of weeks beforehand. I was bored and needed something to keep my mind occupied. So, out came the scraps and voila! A yo-yo quilt.
It fits in the cradle my grandfather built for me when I was three. My grade eight graduation dress was made (by my mom) from the pink floral fabric.
