Marie Antoinette Toy Theatre

Here it is. The body of the toy theatre is an old wooden box with a glass door. I created the facade from foam core and the curtains are from an old silk velvet dress. The crown pin was a great find at the Goodwill and the vintage wallpaper is from some old rolls I found years ago. I put little glass knobs on the bottom for feet and found the perfect knob for the door that looks like it always belonged there. The silk flowers are from the scrapbooking store.
The inside is lined with a sample of French Toile fabric I happened to have and the carpet is a copy from an old silk carpet from my doll house. The "chandelier" is a funky Christmas ornament ornament. I gold leafed the two small frames and put copies from an antique print book in them. I printed some famous Maire portraits onto canvas paper. The molding around the floor is from Dover publishing's Baroque Designs book. I may tweak things a bit but I am fairly pleased with my first efforts in a three dimensional work. Now to begin the doll.
