Wood Splitting Weekend

We got all ready to split wood all weekend long. Saturday was perfect. Sunday however rained much of the time. So, we put a tent over the workspace and kept going. I made a big pot of potato chowder which warmed our tummies at the end of the day.
There is still much to do but this is a good start. More than half the wood is split. We rent the splitter again next weekend.
The wood box in the dining room is full and out side the back door things are all topped up. This shovel stands ready for any early snow. It presented us with quite the surprise too.
Out of a tiny crack in it is growing clover! To think we have so much trouble getting normal stuff to grow in our gardens. You know, where all that great dirt and moisture is. Amazing.
