All's Well On The Home Front

Friday started at 3:30Am and ended at 9PM. Thanks to a good friend we had a ride out and back from the hospital and she was excellent company while we waited for word on the surgery. We got off to a slow start as nothing is open at 6AM in Ottawa but McDonalds so we started there for breakfast. This particular restaurant had a lovely fireplace and comfy club chairs to relax in while you ate. That was nice. Then to Starbucks at Chapters for another couple of hours to chat and read. Finally we got started on the shopping part of the day. We hit the usual places, Ikea, Chapters, Lee Valley, Micheals, Heather's Stamping Haven, The Sassy Bead Company, Home Sense, Value Village and a new Bible Mission used item place.

My favourite finds were the faux grained tin picnic basket, the Mohair wrap from Scotland, a bag full of various doilies. The bisque busts on the right are from "Fiona and Twig's" Etsy shop.
I also came across the mirror at Value Village and just love it. It's in great shape and very reasonably priced at $20. Now, that deal can't hold a candle to the deal found over at the Fiona and Twig blog. Check that one out!

The surgery went well but was more involved than expected however the doctor was very pleased with the outcome. Marty will be home for four weeks which is a real treat for us. He's up and about but not supposed to be doing anything so I got him several woodworking magazines to entertain him. We spent his first two days home watching the entire third season of "Veronica Mars."
