Day Tripping- Giroux's Sewing Centre

It rained all day Thursday, the tail end of a tropical storm on the East Coast reaching this far inland. That wasn't going to deter me from meeting up with my friend Sue in Cornwall yesterday. We started our adventure at Giroux's Sewing Centre. Sue needed thread. Giroux's has been around almost forty years now and doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. That's wonderful for those who can make out there because besides the store, they have a "warehouse" down the road in the basement of a nearby building. You don't want to pass up a visit to this spot! Friendly and helpful Mr. Giroux let me take some pictures as it is a delightfully overwhelming place to lose yourself in. So very much to see! Whatever you may be looking for, they likely have it!
It is also like a trip back in time. Check out these lovely retro-coloured Whites.
Anyone for a refurbished sewing machine?

Tailor's chalk?
Perhaps a few under wires?
I love the space age lines of this old workhorse.

Looking for a button or two? This is Mr. Giroux (his wrist anyway). He will make you a very good deal.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I didn't show you the shelf after shelf of fabrics, zippers, ribbons, trim, upholstery fabric, vinyls, etc. You can check out their eBay link too on their web site. And for those of you longing for a dress form, they are all out but can order a new one for you. Someone already bought them all. It was a grand way to pass a rainy morning!
