Every year I cut myself some lilacs to bring into the house. I put them into the vase that Marty and the boys found years ago, in the crawlspace under our old home. Half of it is broken and long gone but it still holds enough water to keep blooms.
This afternoon, the lilacs were alive with activity. I just kept clicking the shutter, hoping that I might be fortunate enough to capture something.
They were covered with butterflies and big fat bumble bees.
I even saw an hummingbird moth! However they don't sit still for any one's camera.
What a wonderful treat!

What a wonderful treat indeed! Thanks for sharing.
Lilacs are one of my favourite flowers, partly because they have a heavenly smell and partly because the smell takes me back to my childhood. When I was a kid, we had a row of lilacs beside our house and we used to play among the trees. Love your pictures of the butterflies on the lilacs.
I love lilacs! I wanted to get married in the spring just so I could have them. You have taken some truly beautiful pictures :)
