Every year we get a couple bushels of onions from a farmer to get us through the winter. And, every year, towards the end of our stock and with spring coming on, many take to sprouting. So, this year I am taking those sprouts and rooting them and hopefully, by the end of the summer, I've got some more onions. In two days you can already see the new roots starting.

I just watched a Youtube video the other day on doing just that with onions. And as they are growing you can still use the green tops.
