Tin Heads

These are all tin heads, by the Minerva Doll company in Germany. Most of them came from the Mennonite community near Waterloo. Oftentimes you might find a lovely body more suitable for a German bisque headed doll but somewhere along the line the head got broken and was replaced with a much more sturdy tin head. The one in the back left of the crib is in original condition which is surprisingly good as you can see the others have lots of what I call "love rubs."
In spite of or maybe because of their wear I think they are all wonderful.
I'll let you in on a little secret: they all have plaid flannel underwear.

I love your bevy of dollies. The "love rubs" make them special.
