A Little More Time Outside

On our twentieth wedding anniversary (a while ago now) my husband and I took a weekend trip away. The whole thing was somewhat enlightening as we discovered we are not "package" people and would much rather a somewhat modest accommodation and our own choice of food and entertainment. We ended up leaving our fancy B&B early to head to familiar stomping grounds and tour home on a very familiar route.
There was, however, an artist tour going on and our favourite stop was a place called Balleycanoe Company They have the biggest barn of the most glorious salvage I've ever seen and we were inspired by all the wonderful things they had made from that salvage. This piece of old fence was one of the items we picked up that day. Spending time there was the icing on an otherwise slightly disappointing weekend.
I planted seeds for Nasturtiums in the old funnels in the milk cans. Eventually they will happily welcome those who come to visit the shop. Marty built the "Fench" to the left years ago to create a free-standing fence/bench for our old shade garden. On the one side it looks like a section of fence. The other faced the garden and was a comfy bench to sit on.
Twenty years ago my husband was sent on a business trip to Rockport MA. It was our second time there and this particular trip was for two weeks. It was likely the only true vacation we have ever had. Yes, he was in class all day most days but we had the chance to explore the area and eat fresh fish every night. It was glorious. Didn't hurt at all that our expenses were covered too. We even did a whale watch. We learned that we are not too seaworthy that day! At some point, Marty had bought this lovely little stone angel and hidden it away in the car in order to surprise me later ( a birthday perhaps?). Anyway, the surprise was no more when I found the receipt while unpacking. I have enjoyed this little fellow for all these years.
