The Air Has Changed

With all the water this summer some things thrived where other old standbys languished and faded early. The air is crisp with impending winter and I even saw frost on a roof yesterday morning! Eight in the evening, things are already dark. I feel I must get busy like the squirrels and create a cozy nest for myself to snuggle up in and stay warm.
While on the tour last Friday, I noticed that there were gardens that were just bursting at the seams with flowers. The Dahlia's and Zinnias especially! Then I remembered planting a bunch of Zinnia seeds, but didn't remember seeing any come up. Well, when I checked, there was one lonely flower in the whole garden. One lovely, colourful bloom. I'm hoping to be more successful next year. I guess our art is the same. Sometimes we work away on things and they just don't turn out the way we want. However, in the effort there is always something to learn. Back to the old drawing board...

Jennifer, Thanks for adding me to your site.

I love the colour of the Zinnia and I love your comment about our art. "I guess our art is the same. Sometimes we work away on things and they just don't turn out the way we want." It is so true.
