It's nice when everything lines up just so. Saturday had Aaron in Ottawa, Joshua at home and our student on a trip to Toronto. We were free to travel for the day. Marty had a furniture commission to check out in Hudson Quebec. It also happened to be the Vankleek Hill town-wide yard sale and my girlfriend Sue lived on the way out there. The weather was perfect. Once in Hudson Quebec, Sue and I were dropped off at Finnigan's Market. It's chalk full of vendors of all sorts of wonderful stuff.
And it is my birthday this weekend.
I found some terrific little treasures and bargains: Brass stencils, a carved German pipe, aluminum lunch box, small oval suitcase,
Old button cards from Paris (I liked the cards, not the buttons so much), old glass glitter, a sparkly hat pin and brooch,
a bucket of glass doorknobs,
and a tray of glass stoppers. I made a picnic lunch of chicken sandwiches, mini cheesecakes, and French lemonade. Upon our return to Sue's we were able to sit and visit for a while. Then home. Perfect all around.
