In an older issue of
Somerset Studio,
Sandra Evertson showed some lovely little canvases with what she called "souffle" work on them. You take an image and tape it onto some watercolour paper or card stock and with a needle prick holes around the design. Seems simple enough but the design needed to be fairly simple for the size of a trading card. You can also see that the effect is better on lighter paper than dark. Time consuming but once you get into a rhythm it's fun.
