Tiny Dancers

Klumpe and Roldan Dolls - An Introduction (from here):

"Klumpe" and "Roldan" dolls were basically created for the tourist trade in Barcelona, Spain. Unlike many tourist dolls, however, these have a distinctive design. The dolls are made of molded felt and portray many characters, some of which were imported to other countries for collectors. Without a paper label, it is sometimes hard to know if your doll is a Klumpe, a Roldan or another of 13 similar Barcelona companies that produced them. They were created from the mid-fifties into the 1970s. (The later ones are of much lesser quality.)

Here is a tiny dancer, chatting on the phone. This one has a "Nistis" tag.
This is not one from the Klumpe or Roldan company. It's a mere eight inches tall with great detail though.
Here is a genuine "Klumpe" Ballerina. Her tutu is a little tattered but she still has her tags.
I inherited this collection from my mom. I thought it would be fun to post a pic or two per week to share these funky characters and all the wonderful detail that went onto their creation.
Have a great week.
