Sunday Surprise

I was out with the dogs in the early morning and saw what I thought was a funky nest in a big tree. However, when I was heading out with Marty later in the day, the "nest" had moved.
I was a porcupine! The last time we saw one was a few years ago, as it slowly wandered across our driveway.
The little fella was quite patient with our curiosity and allowed for photos. After all, it was high up in a tree and if you were a porcupine, would you be worried about curious onlookers? I didn't think so. It was off on its rounds by dusk.

Hopefully it will steer clear of the main part of the property. Not much of interest to it in the wide open spaces of our main yard.
