Autumn Leaves, Mushrooms, and Scones

It was another beautiful fall day here. No rain as predicted.  When I was at the grocery store I just had to take a picture of the bright red tree against the less striking ones.  We sure seem to have some great colour  this year.

In our own yard I have so enjoyed watching the transition from green, to full colour before the leaves begin to drop.

I noticed this in the front yard.  I tried to find out what it was but had no luck.  I thought it was just full of water but the liquid is definitely more like ink!

                                                              Pretty cool.

And now  the scones.  I used some of the hand ground, locally grown, flour from Upper Canada Village and made three kinds of scones.  They freeze well and are very good to have on hand for guests, little trips, or special occasions.  This time I made dried cherry/walnut scones, orange scones, and pumpkin/cranberry/walnut scones.

What a lovely way to spend a day.
