Salvage Heaven: Balleycanoe

On Saturday Marty and I enjoyed a leisurely drive int he country to our favourite salvage spot.  Balleycanoe, in Mallorytown Ontario.  I was looking for some specific hardware and came away with lots of inspiring photos too.
Yes, I have posted lots of photos from here before so if you don't want to see them again, do drop by another time.  If you like wonderful old pieces of history, enjoy!

You never know what you will come across.  Love this wooden shovel.

Upstairs in the barn are hundreds of doors and so much more.  Downstairs, lots of tin and hardware and, well you just never know what you will see.

This pink door is much smaller than most.

                                                           Spindles anyone?

                                                          Looking outside.

There are lots of wonderful architectural details to be found.

I just love the faux paintwork on this door.  I do wish there was somewhere I could put it to use.

Shutters with a little bit of whimsy.

These are lovely glass knobs with threaded stems.

Great big beautiful hinges!  They simply do not make things the way they used to.

Hooks with all kinds of great wear on them.

                                                          More porch details.

Valve knobs, all stacked up.  I think they look a little like trees.

                                                               Glorious grate.

Two cast iron baskets.  You've got move fast sometimes!  After taking this photo, one was sold!

This is one of my favourite pieces.  It is sold to some happy customer.

                                                      More beautiful hinges.

There are a number of bird houses around too.  From Ballycanoe to your home.  You are only  limited by your imagination!!

I really like the decorated hinges. Never seen anything like them before. The grate is also really neat. It looks like a gate that would take you through to a walled garden.

I love many things in your post, especially the little pink door, the hinges, and the architectural porch details. I would have come home with a van full of goodies!
