Hello Again!

It's been a month. Feels like a lot longer but here I am.  Summer is here, although some days it is very cold while last week we had some pretty hot days.

There has been quite a bit of work going on around here. Joshua dug most of the holes for the new fruit trees we added to our orchard.  We are looking forward to enjoying fresh apples, peaches, pears, plums, and cherries in a couple of years.  I was excited to also be able to tuck in some black raspberries, red raspberries, blueberries, and an aronia berry, and some red currants too.
Our strawberries have grown from last year and are showing fruit. Now it is a contest to see who gets to eat them- us or the wildlife!

Gumdrop really enjoyed hanging out with Joshua. She has a thing for rocks and is quite insistent that you toss them for her. Seriously!?

How about some peg board? You could toss that for me? Nope!

Marty and the boys also did some clearing at the back of the new orchard where there was a tangle of barbed wire and old cedar fencing.

We enjoyed our first burgers of the season on the grill. Yummy.

The "Meaties" are have been enjoying exploring a bit. No losses so far this year. Nice!

Our wee layers are growing and happy in the little coop, watching the bigger birds in the main coop nearby.

I had never seen such a beetle before. It was on my sheets on the clothesline. Apparently it is a Click Beetle. A new one for me.

The garden is all but in and Marty also got up a pallet fence along one side of the garden. Things are coming along.
