Spring is Sprung

Winter is finally behind us. Here are the "before" pictures of our back yard. The Trilliums have been transplanted twice. First to our old home in Eastern Ontario and then here when we moved. I'm thrilled to see that they have made it. The "Easter Island" head is nestled all snug in what will soon be a very crowded shade garden. the Hostas are just starting to poke their heads through the soil. The growing season is longer here and the ground very sandy which seems to better suit my plants. They've never been happier. In Glengarry County the ground was very rocky.
The gazing globe sits in what will be the herb part of my veggie garden. The boys dug two more sections this year. The potatoes, carrots, beans and peas are in along with a few onions. In a few more weeks we will put in the tomatoes, lettuce and peppers. We have Guinea Pigs and they love the produce that comes from the garden too!
The stone building beyond will eventually become our "Milkhouse Gallery". It is a slow process renovating it for use. Once things become more mature I will take more pictures to show the progress. Happy Spring!
