I found this issue of Adorn in the grocery store recently and was naturally drawn t the buttons on the front. I had to buy it! On the cover it says "the crafty girls guide to embellishing life." Besides "art" in the deliberate making of.. sense. Don't we create in every part of our life, if we're the creative type? This reasonably priced magazine is filled with simple ideas for adding that little extra something to everything. It covers clothes, accessories, decorating and even food. It's fun to read, bright and colourful and most of the techniques they discuss hark back to the days of summer day camps, Girl Guides and homemade Christmas gifts. Simple, some old-fashioned, but all updated for today.

Domino magazine is another magazine I am strangely drawn to. My personal style is very much those warm earthy shades of autumn put together with my husband's Mission-style furniture, yard sale finds, and personal collections and art. This however is a "shopping guide" filled with products for those who are looking for that special item to finish their decorating projects. I however enjoy the bios of decorators and the fact that they too cover a little bit of everything: history, art, food travel, gardening etc. Most issues come with a page of post-it type flags to use to mark your favourite places in the magazine. I used some for a set of ATCs among other things. Inspiration everywhere.
