Happy Thanksgiving!

This is a Turducken. It is a turkey filled with a duck filled with a chicken filled with a spicy Cajun seasoned pork sausage stuffing. We had been hearing about this interesting food item on CBC radio over the past few years and when they said the Loblaw's line of stores were now carrying it I checked it out. My local store had one! I bought it! It is indeed a rich treat but delicious and soooo easy to prepare as all the prep work is done for you. It was imported from Texas. It's just over ten pounds and looks a little flat as it is boneless.
Here's what it looks like when you cut into it. There are no bones except in the wings and legs so it goes a long way to filling everyone up quick. It'll make some terrific hot Turducken sandwiches. It also made the best gravy I tasted in a long time.
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend.

This is wonderful! Have read of them. And our ancient family used to do them.

Hope to see them in southern Ohio. How good to have them all done for you.

Thank-you for this inspiration.
