Happy Aniversary - To Us

Twenty-four years ago I got married.
Today we celebrate with a quiet dinner reminiscent of our staple meal so long ago. Tuna casserole with Niblets. We served it so often to friends who stayed for dinner that they gave us a big box of all the main ingredients for Christmas! It, by the way, was one of the two most thoughtful gifts we ever received from friends. The other was a basket of vitamins, among other things, for myself and the family when my hubby was out of work for a prolonged period of time. Those are the gifts that come from the heart and go straight to the needs of someone special. Perhaps trivial and not too fancy from the outside but more precious than gold to the recipient.
So, with more love now than we knew we were capable of, we mark this day with a quiet dinner for two at the little table we began our married life with. The guys thought it most important that I make a big batch and portion off our part so they wouldn't get forgotten at dinner time. Oh, how practical they are!
