Tales From the Milkhouse

Flocked Apron with pockets, and sparkles!

During the Artist Tour, it was very interesting to see what different folks enjoyed most in the shop. Some were very interested in the pieces of Marty's furniture especially his custom Croquet set and the shadow boxes he patiently makes for my art ( wishing the whole time I would just stick to one shape and size!). What struck me was the number of folks who stopped and spent time browsing through the vintage aprons, gloves and clothing!
Lovely cotton full apron with blue polka dot piping.

They had great memories of their mothers or grandmothers wearing certain aprons.
Exquisitely detailed antique slip with fine tucks and little Abalone buttons down the side.

They had their own memories of wearing the kitchen staple themselves and marveled at how it isn't often done anymore, guessing that our easy care clothing, upgraded laundry facilities, and the fact that we just don't spend as much time in the kitchen as we used to, are likely why.
Fun and funky gloves with red "X" design and scalloped cuffs.

The stories of wearing gloves, staining and losing gloves etc. were fun too. I only remember having gloves as a very small child. I guess I showed up a little too late for some of those rituals.
