Hunting Bliss

These arrived in the mail the other day. Thirty-eight lovely quilt blocks each little piece lovingly hand-stitched by someone. They are fifteen inches long and...are you thinking the same thing I am? I thought they would make perfect banner elements. Already the right shape, a great size to work on and antique. Does it get any better than this?

Below are the green shutters I mentioned earlier. Not totally sure what I want to do with them yet.
This looks like the normal dollar store resin piece doesn't it? For some reason I have been attracted to Swans lately. No idea why. Anyhow, Joshua and I were at the Goodwill and it happened to be half price day. If you don't mind crowds of people and noisy children and long waits in line to buy your single item, it can sometime net you a wee treasure or two. Normally I avoid half price day. I prefer a more leisurely hunt. At the cash is a cabinet of jewelery ad little items. I couldn't take my eyes off this. There was something not right about what it looked like vs. the vibe I got from it. So, I asked the girl to pull it out and sure enough when I lifted the lid it turned out to be an old dime store (like today's dollar store) salt figure. I have tried to find more info. on these types of things but have had no luck so far. I have a few "salt figures" as we call them.

My father in law has a lovely salt figurine of a boy and his dog. I'll try to send you a photo. Sheila
