Garden Bliss

Things are really growing outside. It feels as though we have waited forever to feel the sun upon our faces and to push our hands into the warm dirt and to see the fresh green of our gardens come to life.
Years ago I started a shade garden at our old home. The ground was less than accommodating and it took a lot to make it thrive. I moved a great many of those plants with me when we moved here and in one season they just burst forth!
I find Hostas exciting as they can get so very large but begin quietly each spring carefully poking their tightly wrapped leaves through the earth before opening up.
As perennials they tend to be on the pricey side but a friend and I would share the cost and split the plant. That way we could add to our garden collection each year.
The variations are endless and together they make for a lovely and lush shade garden, tucked around the corner of the house, just waiting to be discovered.
Happy Victoria Day weekend, everyone!
