It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Many years ago Marty I began the tradition of spending one day out together, after much of the Christmas prep was completed, just window shopping and enjoying a meal together. We used to spend the day in Montreal. Then we moved here and the past few years we would head up to Ottawa. Today we headed to Merrickville. The town opened its doors yesterday to their big, annual Christmas celebration. I hear it was super well-attended.

Everything is decorated and today there has been big fluffy snowflakes falling adding just a touch of magic to the air.
It's always fun to see store windows.
My personal favourite, Mrs. McGarrigles.
We ate lunch at Gad's Hill Place. We have been there a lot over many years. Good food, lovely atmosphere. Not horribly priced either. Today, Joshua chose the chocolate lava cake for dessert.
Marty and I shared the bread pudding. I love the fact that they use cranberries instead of raisins. It is so good!
After spending time in Merrickville we headed off to Brockville to pick up a few things. This is what greets you at the TSC. Makes ya smile, don't it? (Tractor tires for a top hat, orange pylon for a nose and hay bales all wrapped up for the body.)

I hope you have a good weekend too.
