Merrickville, Again.

Good friend Jenny called and asked if I would like to meet her in Merrickville yesterday. Of course I said yes!
I love to visit Merrickville. It is always bustling with people from all over, enjoying the historic buildings, shops, food and of course the Rideau Canal. There is a set of locks there and you can watch the boats go through. However, there were no boats yesterday. The cost of fuel and overall lousy economy certainly has something to do with that.
The town really puts a lot of effort into the "street decor" and each shop front is inviting. Windsor's Courtyard's window boxes are always stunning!
Another window box further down the road.
The old stone United church has quite the blue door!
Jenny and I took the time to wander about the Merrickville Ruins. They date to 1848.
And old relic. It's huge.
Jenny and I found a well-trod path to the water.
The water and moss beneath cast great colours in the sunlight.

Mini falls.

Cool fresh water.
Great rocky spots.
Thank you for joining me on another tour of Merrickville. I never tire of visiting there.
