I've shared pics of my ornamental crab apple tree before. This year is the first year to actually get fruit on it. It is heavy with wee little crab apples. I couldn't resist. I had to DO something with some of those tiny apples. All apples are edible, however these look to be hardly worth the effort.
I passed a lovely hour or so out in the cool breezy sunshine, pulling tiny apples off the tree.
Boiled and drained overnight, cooked and canned. Aren't they lovely? Delicious too! To the right is a jar of ginger beets. More gorgeous colour.
